As Falz himself said, ‘This is Nigeria’ where everyone wants to sing. listeners of Nigerian music have been abused and disrespected over the years. The music scene is emblematic of the country itself so when a privileged and talented person, who grew to see his father receive wide acclaim for activism engages the country with his talent, he is bound to be condescending. In Falz’s mind, he is more conscious and active than a lot of citizens and musicians. This, I think is where the problem lies. He has to avoid the condescending thought that he is better than a whole lot of people.
